Blue is approximately 3.5 years old. He was found as a stray in a residential neighborhood in north Charlotte, NC and picked up by Char-Meck Animal control. He was an in tact male prior to coming, but was neutered prior to being rescued by me. He was in perfect health except he was overweight, and is current on all of his shots. He was deemed not adoptable for "alleged" food aggression, however, he has been fully temperment tested to include for resource aggression, and he has been eating out of my hands from day one. I believe what Animal Control saw was a dog that was a stray for several days that was afraid of the environment he was just put in, hungry and not sure where his next meal was going to come from, because I have not seen that in him at all. In fact, he will not begin to eat sometimes, unless I go sit with him and help him with the food with my hands or a fork to get the stuck food off the sides of the bowl. He gets along great with my 10 month old male Rottweiler AND my 15lb female Shih Tzu.

He is house trained, crate trained, and basic household obedience trained and listens very well, but with more of lumbering giant delayed reaction or like a kid that tunes out his parents, because he is more interested in whatever he is sniffing or looking at at the time, but generally he does listen, and will do almost anything when you have food or a treat in your hand.

At the time I pulled him, he needed to lose about 15-20 pounds and has been on a diet/exercise regimen for 2.5 months and now is down to a healthy 106lbs down from 126lbs. He is in excellent health, has great teeth, a nice coat, and is very muscular and powerful. I named him Blue because of his blue harness I bought him, but also because he looks like "Baloo" from the Disney character in the "Jungle Book".

He has had his shots for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Corona, etc. Blue has been tested for heartworms and fecal check and both came back negative. He is also now microchipped.

Blue is not dog or people aggressive, and he is VERY social and lovable. He has gotten somewhat attached to me and sometimes is protective of me around a handful male strangers, but not all men, just generally those he does not know or those who approach me quickly or what he deems to be in a threatening manner to me. Also, he is not that fond of anything with wheels for some odd reason. He will bark and carry on at bicycles, motorcycles, even a parked riding lawn mower from time-to-time...lol ;-), which is kind of amuzing, but the adoptee needs to be aware of this when in public. Other than that he generally follows you around and just wants to be loved and petted. He loves to sneak up on the couch or bed with you and will sleep soundly. He does not fidget in the bed with you and is a great extra pillow. He will just rest his head on your body and sleep soundly all night long. He is basically a 106lb Mr. Snuff-a-luff-a-kiss.
