Bear is approximately 3.5 years old. He was found as a stray in a residential neighborhood in Pineville NC, a suburb of Charlotte and picked up by Char-Meck Animal control, and checked out. He was neutered prior to being picked up. He was healthy, but overweight and is current on all of his shots. He was deemed adoptable, but was pulled with Blue (see listing), because his owners did not come to claim him. He is house trained, crate trained, and basic household obedience trained and listens very well.

At the time I pulled him, he needed to lose about 15lbs and has now been on a diet and exercise regimen and now is down to a healthy 106lbs down from 122lbs. He just went thru a torn ACL surgery three weeks ago and he is recovering very well and should be back to 100% in 3 to 4 more weeks. Other than that he is in excellent health, has great teeth, a very soft coat similar to mink and thus why I called him Bear, because he looks and feels like a big teddy bear.

He has had his shots for Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, Corona, etc. Bear has been tested for heartworms and fecal check and both came back negative. He is also now microchipped.

Bear is not dog or people aggressive, and he is VERY social and lovable. He generally follows you around and just wants to be loved and petted. He is basically a 106lb lap-dog. He is great with kids, men, women, other dogs and cats. He is somewhat resource aggresive if another dog tries to take his rawhide or toys, but humans can take things from him just fine, although he trys to hide from you what resource you are about to take. He simply does not like to share with his siblings. Heck, I didn't want to share anything with my brother or sister growing up either. ;-)

If it is possible for both dogs, Bear and Blue,(See Blue's web page) to be adopted together to the same home that is preferable, because they love being together and get along great, however, it is ok if they go to separate homes as well. I just want the best possible, loving and caring home for these boys. They are both great dogs.
