The Rainbow Bridge
Author unknown Between Earth and Heaven stretches the glorious Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. ![]() I have more sad news. Our other Rottie, Miracle fell ill suddenly and passed away yesterday. Thank you for letting us list both her and Roxie on your website. Its been a very sad few weeks, especially for Lisa Reid and Tony Orange, who board and take care of our dogs. ![]() I just received the unfortunate news that Roxie passed away a couple of days ago. She had an undiscovered tumor near her spleen that had spread to her liver. Even though she'd been with the SPCA for over 18 months, its just in the last 6 months that she seemed to be settling in and her true personality was showing. Lisa Reid, who owns the kennel where the SPCA boards the dogs, and Tony Orange who worked extensively with Roxie are both very saddened by her absence. ![]() Am/Can Ch Chellen's Cuervo Gold, TT, HCT, CGC From the day Jose was born, he was my golden boy. I had no plans to keep a boy from his litter but no matter how hard I tried I just could not let him go. My life was changed because of that decision, made from my heart not my head. Jose was a willing worker, with a lazy "mom", and Champion that finished both of his titles easily. BUT his real job in life was to show the world the REAL Rottweiler. He was no one's whimp but he was a willing CGC test dog and an ambassador for the breed everywhere he went. He was always happy and smiling from ear to ear, he was great with children and tolerant of even the rowdiest puppy. He was my protector, my clown, my heart and will be missed always. Michelle Lennon ![]() Cali died in an unfortuante accident when she broke her lead and ran into the line of fire. Many ARRF volunteers worked with Cali during her time with us prior to adoption and we all miss her terribly. Please let her sacrifice be a reminder to always ensure that your pet is properly secured and to never put them in unnecessary danger. ![]() I will miss her so much and she brought lots of strength to our lives. Seeing her struggle in these last few days has made know that it was time for her to meet the Master. Thank you all for caring for her and we will miss her dearly.
